About Marci Jory
I’m Marci Jory, founder of Moxie Culture & Strategy. I work with women founders, nonprofit leaders, and small organizations navigating growth, change, and increasing responsibility.
My background spans organizational leadership, community development, and nearly a decade of running a wellness and education business. I have worked inside public, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial environments, supporting leaders as they build teams, clarify direction, and strengthen how their organizations function day to day.
I founded Moxie to provide practical, steady partnership for leaders doing meaningful work under real pressure. My approach combines clear thinking, lived experience, and deep respect for the people carrying responsibility.
I believe leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about asking the right questions, listening carefully, and creating the clarity and structure that allow people and organizations to move forward with confidence.
My Path to Moxie
My career has always centered on people, community, and purpose-driven work.
Before founding Moxie, I spent years working inside nonprofit, public, and entrepreneurial environments, supporting leaders as they built teams, clarified direction, and strengthened how their organizations functioned. My work in economic development and placemaking brought me alongside city leaders, Main Street organizations, and mission-driven groups where I saw firsthand how often capable people struggled in systems with unclear culture, strained communication, or insufficient support.
The work mattered. The challenge was making it sustainable.
Alongside this, I built and operated a wellness and leadership business for nearly a decade. Entrepreneurship gave me direct experience with the weight of decision-making, uncertainty, visibility, and caring for people while moving a mission forward. It shaped my deep respect for founders and women leaders carrying significant responsibility.
Across roles, I am known for building trust, reading group dynamics, and helping leaders name what is difficult to articulate. I help people step back, see clearly, and focus on what will make the greatest difference.
Moxie brings this experience together into a practical leadership and organizational consulting practice grounded in real-world responsibility.
What Guides My Work
Culture shapes how people experience their work. It influences whether they feel clear, supported, and able to contribute well. The day-to-day reality inside an organization is not accidental. It is created through leadership, communication, and the systems in place.
I believe leaders are responsible for building environments where people can succeed. How decisions are made, expectations are communicated, and support is provided all matter.
Clarity creates momentum. When direction and priorities are understood, people feel grounded and capable. They know what matters and how their work fits into the whole.
Sustainable leadership requires structure and support. Healthy organizations are built through thoughtful systems, strong communication, and respect for the people doing the work.
Leadership is relational. Trust determines how effectively work moves forward.
Leadership takes courage, clarity, and MOXIE.
